PROGRAM SUMMARY This presentation will focus on the overview of various waterproofing, protection course and drainage methods that meet the standards of today’s plaza deck applications. Along with an overview of various overburden system and the requirements they mandate of the plaza deck waterproof systems. LEARNING OBJECTIVES • Overview of substrate evaluation by looking at the proper psi and moisture content of concrete to apply adhered membrane waterproofing as well as review acceptable products for green concrete. • Compare the difference between adhered membrane technologies and un-adhered or “loose laid” technologies in horizontal waterproofing applications. • Review various options for protection courses, insulation, and drainage layers with various overburden such as poured concrete, pavers, growing medium and/or asphalt. • Recognize transition detail to various substrates for different waterproofing technologies.
