"What product should I use for this?" As manufacturer's reps, we get this question a lot.
While the answer (of course) depends on the specifics of the job, there are certain waterproofing and restoration products we find ourselves recommending again and again.
Here are five of them.

Optic™ Architectural Coating
Waterproof your façade without changing its appearance
What it is: Optic is a 100% silicone-based coating that goes over masonry, brick, concrete, stucco, wood, natural stone, and other substrates. It cures into a thin, breathable, waterproof membrane that lets the underlying substrate show through.
Use it on: Leaking façades where you need a waterproof barrier but can’t (or shouldn’t) alter the building’s appearance. Think landmarked buildings, historic brick, or any façade that the owner doesn’t want repainted or resurfaced.
Why we recommend it:
Cost-effective, long-term alternative to invasive façade replacement or temporary fixes
Provides lasting waterproof protection while preserving the existing look of the building
Simple application – primerless adhesion to most substrates
Vapor permeable, so moisture already in the wall can escape
Added bonus: It resists graffiti. Most paint and inks wipe off the cured surface with ordinary cleaners.

PreTak
High-performance below-grade waterproofing at a competitive price
What it is: PreTak is a fully adhered, pre-applied HDPE sheet membrane for below-grade waterproofing. It bonds directly to freshly placed concrete or shotcrete, creating a continuous waterproof barrier.
Use it on: Blindside foundation walls and underslab applications, particularly where hydrostatic pressure, high water tables, or contaminated soils are a concern.
Why we recommend it:
Fully bonds to concrete to help prevent lateral water migration
HydroLap™ seams adhere even in wet jobsite conditions
Highly puncture resistant and durable during construction
Wide rolls mean fewer seams and faster installation
Delivers the performance of a fully adhered HDPE system at a competitive price point

US Thin Patch V/O
Make strong, long-lasting vertical/overhead repairs
What it is: US Thin Patch V/O is a single component, polymer modified concrete repair product. This rapid hardening mortar is specifically designed for vertical and overhead repairs, and comes ready to use – just add water.
Use it on: Bridges, tunnels, balconies, parking decks, manholes, sewers, piers, bulkheads, elevated concrete slabs and slabs on grade
Why we recommend it:
Impressive strength and durability – 6000 psi compressive strength, 2500 psi bond strength, and 1800 psi flexural strength after 28 days
NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 & 372 certified for drinking water systems
Excellent value – high-performance without the corporate overhead costs
Its integral corrosion inhibitor protects the rebar underneath
Excellent freeze thaw resistance – 99.2% after 300 cycles

PURINJECT 1C Soil
Stabilize weak soil in place and control groundwater
What it is: A low-viscosity, hydrophobic polyurethane injection resin used to stabilize, solidify, and waterproof soil. Once injected, it reacts to form a closed-cell foam that binds the surrounding soil together.
Use it on: Projects requiring soil stabilization, pre-excavation, support of excavation, dewatering, groundwater control, and underpinning applications.
Why we recommend it:
Stabilizes weak or loose soil in place without the need for excavation and replacement
Low viscosity (25 cP) allows the resin to penetrate small voids and spaces in the soil
Solidifies soil while also controlling groundwater
Strong, non-shrinking properties after cure – withstands compressive loads
Adjustable reaction time gives installers more control based on site and soil conditions

DryFix
Secure masonry walls without resin, grout, or visible repairs
What it is: DryFix is a slim, versatile mechanical pinning and remedial tying system for stabilizing and securing masonry walls. It requires no resin, grout or mechanical expansion. The helical tie is power-driven into a small pilot hole using a special installation tool, leaving it recessed below the masonry face for a virtually invisible finish.
Use it on: Cavity and solid masonry walls where existing wall ties need to be replaced. It can also be used to secure multiple layers of masonry and to pin delicate masonry features where a discreet, stress-free fixing is required.
Why we recommend it:
Leaves masonry virtually unmarked
Highly economical with low installation costs
No resin or grout required
Fast to install – reduces labor time and disruption on site
Effective in bricks, blocks, concrete, hard mortar, wood stud, metal stud
Stress-free fix– no mechanical expansion means less risk of disturbing surrounding masonry
